Job summary

Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) seeks an enthusiastic Library Services Assistant to proactively assist customers with diverse library needs, process materials, manage accounts, and support programs and branch operations across locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet federal/state requirements to act as passport application agent (required for full-time Library Services Assistant assigned to locations offering passport services)

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with diverse library needs and basic information.
• Provide materials advisory and assist with reserves and programs.
• Process all materials and devices.
• Handle daily monetary processes and revenue reports.
• Open/close procedures and branch operations.
• Assist with programs and outreach events.
• Merchandise and shelve library materials; manage accounts and payments.
