Job summary

City of Leander is seeking an entry-level Library Aide to assist patrons and staff in daily library operations. You will help with circulation, reference, technology access, and program support while working under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of customer service, and potential library-related coursework. Flexible hours including evenings and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Six months library experience OR 4 college credits in Library Science or related field.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist library users in person and by phone.
• Provide information and reference help across all ages.
• Support circulation tasks such as memberships and inter-library loan requests.
• Assist with technology access and printer/scanner/fax use.
• Help patrons navigate the online catalog and locate materials.
• Support program development, displays, and event setup.
• Attend meetings and training sessions.
• Perform security, cleaning, and opening/closing tasks.
