Job summary

UNLV University Libraries is seeking a Security Officer (Safety Operations Supervisor) to lead the safety and loss prevention efforts across Lied Library and three branch locations on the UNLV Maryland campus.

The role involves supervising up to 10 student employees, conducting regular safety checks, handling emergencies, and guiding staff during evening operations from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Sunday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two years of public contact work.
• Experience in delivering excellent customer service and managing inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 10 safety student employees and ensure proper training.
• Oversee and coordinate opening/closing of library buildings and evacuations.
• Monitor safety and security, respond to incidents, and enforce policies.
• Communicate effectively during evening and weekend operations.
