Job summary

Pueblo City-County Library District is seeking a part-time Security Officer to help safeguard library patrons and staff while delivering friendly, helpful service across PCCLD locations. The position requires standing/walking, de-escalation skills, and reliable reporting of incidents in accordance with policy.

The role supports security operations at multiple library sites, including Pueblo West. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, Colorado driver’s license, and strong

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of related experience working directly with the public in a security role.
• Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere for library patrons and staff.
• Patrol library facilities to identify safety and security concerns.
• Explain library policies and use de-escalation techniques to resolve issues.
• Transport library materials between locations as needed.
• Enforce PCCLD Code of Conduct and safety procedures.
• Respond to disturbances, escort disruptive individuals, and report criminal activity.
