Job summary

Allen County Public Library is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Technician in Fort Wayne, IN. The role covers HVAC maintenance, electrical repair, carpentry, and installation projects to keep library spaces inviting and functional.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry installation and repair.
• Proficiency with safety regulations and practices for a secure work environment.
• Basic computer literacy for work orders and logs.
• Ability to operate small vehicles (van, pickup) for onsite tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems in library facilities.
• Troubleshoot HVAC and electrical issues to ensure spaces are functional and welcoming.
• Collaborate with a team to support ongoing facility operations and safety standards.
• Keep accurate logs and use work order systems to track tasks.
• Maintain library spaces to support community learning and programs.
