Job summary

Library Systems & Services Llc is seeking a Library Associate 3-Programming and Outreach to join the Operations Team in Duncanville, Texas. The role demands strong communication, organization, and the ability to work independently or with groups, while promoting libraries through community programs.

Hours worked per week are 40. The candidate will lead story times, craft and STEAM activities, and coordinate volunteers, with a focus on welcoming customers and ensuring privacy and compliance

Qualifications

• Must have a HS Diploma or GED; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be able to work a schedule including days, evenings, and Saturdays.
• Strong customer service and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks timely.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with insurance and clean driving record.
• Advanced proficiency with app-based devices, computers, printers, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience serving youth and planning and executing story times.
• English/Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service with welcoming greetings.
• Plan and lead programs for children, teens, and adults including story times and STEAM activities.
• Submit programming for approval in line with guidelines.
• Participate in community outreach and engagement programs.
• Transport, set up, and tear down outreach displays.
• Coordinate volunteers and training.
• Adhere to privacy and custodianship of customer records.
• Other duties as assigned.
