Job summary

American University seeks a Library Operations Specialist (part-time) to join the Library Operations Team within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will carry out daily duties including oversight of operations, supervision of student staff, and delivering superior customer service to AU students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The role requires availability to work several shifts not to exceed 27 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, with hourly pay of $19.00–$24.25.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree from American University.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 20+ student employees at 3 service points during 90+ hours.
• Ensure service points open on time; manage staffing and customer service.
• Assist with building operations and maintenance coordination.
• Support events setup and other library projects.
