Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Library Science is required.
  • Licensed by NCDPI as a school library media coordinator.
  • Strong knowledge of K-12 curriculum and NC standards.
  • Experience aligning media centers with instructional goals.
  • Ability to design professional development and collaborate with PLCs.

Responsibilities

  • Aligns instruction with the NC Standard Course of Study and NC Information and Technology Skills.
  • Models, coaches and collaborates with teachers on inquiry and digital citizenship.
  • Organizes the media center and resources to support school goals.
  • Leads professional development in literacy, digital learning and resource access.
  • Prepares and submits accurate reports for inventories and data collection.
  • Advocates intellectual freedom and copyright in the media program.
  • Serves on school leadership teams and collaborates on program evaluation.
  • Develops long-range plans for digital learning and media programs.
