Job summary

The University of South Carolina Upstate Library is seeking a part-time Student Employee to support the Library Makerspace during open hours. You will oversee equipment use, assist patrons, and help maintain the makerspace (3D printers, Cricut/Silhouette, sewing machines) while ensuring safety and policy compliance.

This role requires Federal Work Study preferred, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Available early mornings and up to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Federal Work Study students are preferred.
• Applicants must be dependable and available to work early mornings.
• Applicants must be able to push book carts weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Applicants must be able to use step stools in a routine and safe manner.
• No experience necessary, but experience with makerspace equipment and related technology is preferred.
• Maintain minimum enrollment (6 HOURS ) during Fall and Spring terms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee makerspace equipment use and ensure users follow policies and procedures.
• Help staff the Library Makerspace during open hours and assist patrons with equipment as needed.
