Job summary

City of Santa Monica seeks a detail‑oriented administrator to support library literacy programs within the Library System. You will coordinate program activities, monitor progress, and work with librarians and volunteers to ensure timely delivery.

In addition to data collection, you will compile billing and grant reports, assist with grant applications, recruit and train literacy coaches, and coordinate trainings and communications with partner agencies to expand community literacy services.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
• Experience: Three years of paid, increasingly responsible work experience preparing and maintaining administrative, financial, fiscal, and statistical records and/or reports and performing financial support duties.
• An associate degree or 60 semester units from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience.
• Library experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate literacy programs and monitor implementation.
• Compile data, process billing and grant reports, and track project status.
• Coordinate literacy coach trainings and recruitment.
• Assist with grant applications and submission of required reports and documents.
• Schedule appointments, trainings, and meetings for students and volunteer coaches.
• Liaise with community agencies and committees.
