Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in a library setting preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Proficient in using electronic databases for research.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources.
• Develop and implement policies for cataloging, classifying and indexing materials.
• Assist patrons with research inquiries by providing information literacy instruction and conducting searches using electronic databases.
• Respond to reference questions from in-person, email, phone or chat.
• Organize events such as book clubs, author readings and workshops to promote literacy.
• Collaborate with other departments within the library to develop educational programs for children or adults.
• Keep abreast of new developments in library science and technology to improve services offered to patrons.
• Train volunteers or interns on library procedures and assist them as needed.
