Job summary

Boulder Library is seeking a part-time cleaner to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming library spaces. The role involves evening and weekend shifts as part of a 0.5 FTE schedule, with tasks spanning general cleaning, floor care, restroom upkeep, and minor building monitoring.

The position requires reliability, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and experience with custodial equipment. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus for this diverse community.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial experience required.
• Demonstrated reliability and strong work habits.
• Experience performing a range of physical and manual tasks, including operating custodial equipment and lifting items over 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with custodial tools, equipment, materials, and cleaning methods.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and sweep public and staff areas.
• Mop, vacuum, shampoo, steam-clean, wax, and polish floors and carpets.
• Deep clean restrooms and restock supplies.
• Clean public computers, keyboards, and computer mice.
• Clean offices, meeting rooms, break rooms, and other staff spaces.
• Dispose of trash, recycling, and compost.
• Report building conditions and repairs to supervisor.
• Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Sweep and remove trash from entrances (interior & exterior).
• Perform light snow and ice removal as needed.
