Job summary

The Library Director at Escondido Public Library will oversee daily operations, ensure contract compliance with LS&S and deliver exceptional service to the community.

You will lead a diverse staff, manage budgeting and collection development, and build strong relationships with local officials and partners while maintaining a safe, welcoming library environment.

Strong communication and strategic planning are essential to advancing library services and community engagement.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or equivalent required.
• Four years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Five years of library management/administrative experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing financial reports and library data preferred.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
• Experience responding to patron requests and feedback.
• Regular and reliable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Leads with integrity and promotes LS&S culture, values and mission.
• Oversees day-to-day operations and contract/operational requirements.
• Evaluates operations and KPIs to identify improvements.
• Leads, coaches, and develops staff to provide excellent service.
• Manages staffing needs and communicates with VP, Operations.
• Maintains positive relationships with officials and partners.
• Ensures compliance with privacy and library policies.
