Job summary

Library Systems & Services (LS&S) seeks a Library Director to steward the Camarillo Library’s mission and operations. You will lead a team, manage day-to-day activities, and ensure contract and operational requirements are met while delivering exceptional patron experiences.

You will work with local officials and partners, monitor budgets and performance metrics, and drive program development in alignment with LS&S values.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS or equivalent required.
• Four years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Five years of library management and/or administrative experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing financial reports, demographics, and trends.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
• Experience working with patrons and responding to questions. Regular attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Camarillo Library and ensures requirements are met.
• Leads staff development and coaching to achieve goals and excellent service.
• Manages staffing levels and communicates with the VP of Operations.
• Evaluates operations and KPIs to identify improvements.
• Maintains relationships with officials, boards, and community partners.
• Ensures compliance with policies and legal requirements.
• Monitors budgets, materials selection, and acquisitions as per policies.
• Stays current on trends and community needs affecting services.
