The Bush School in Seattle is seeking a full-time Library Coordinator to support students, faculty, and staff across all divisions. The role emphasizes library services, cataloging, and collection maintenance to foster literacy and curiosity.
You will work a 7:15 a.m.–3:15 p.m. schedule, be part of the Library team, and help create engaging library experiences for a diverse K-12 community.

Position Summary/Overview:
The Bush School is in search of an individual to join our Library Team as a full-time, hourly Library Coordinatorworkingan Academic Year schedule, which includes one week before the school year begins and one week after the school year ends. We are seeking a candidate who will support the school’s mission of diversity and inclusion and who has a background thatdemonstratesan understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency.
The Library Coordinator reports to the School Librarians and supports them in providing library services to students, faculty, and staff across all three divisions: Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School.
Perform daily maintenance of the library collection, space, circulation, and databases.
Open the library each morning andstaffthe circulation desk throughout the day.
Supervise K-12 students when they are using the library before school, during library classes, recesses, and other times as needed.
Provide patronassistance, including checking out books, answering questions, andassistingwith the use of the library catalog (Follett Destiny) and other library databases.
Check in and shelve returned books.
Catalog and process new books using Follett Destiny (i.e., MARC records).
Conduct periodic library collection inventory, weeding, and maintenance.
Design and produce promotional materials, including library bulletin boards and displays.
Attend periodic after-school staff meetings and community gatherings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least one of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Relevant work experience in a library or related setting; candidates currently enrolled in Education or Library-focused programs of study are encouraged to apply.
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in this position may be considered.
Experience with library management systems, especially Follett Destiny.
Appreciation of literacy, reading, and familiarity with contemporarychildren’sand YA literature.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Google applications, Windows and Mac OS, and an aptitude for learningnew technologies.
Ability to worka 7:15 a.m.–3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday schedule.
