Job summary

The State Library of Ohio is seeking a Library Consultant to lead a statewide resource-sharing program, focusing on SearchOhio member libraries as the primary contact, providing ongoing communication, guidance, and support.

This role includes training library staff on the SearchOhio platform, coordinating system enhancements with vendors, and supporting upgrades, while traveling across Ohio to engage with libraries.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in library science from accredited college or university.
  • 12 mos. exp. in library science position performing budgeting & project management tasks or in management &/or administration.
  • 5 yrs. exp. in library science position.

Responsibilities

  • Most of the successful candidate's time will be spent serving as the primary point of contact for SearchOhio member libraries (i.e. providing ongoing communication, guidance, support, problem resolution)
  • This position includes responsibilities related to training library staff on the SearchOhio platform and procedures, utilizing knowledge of multiple integrated library systems
  • Time will be spent working with vendors, coordinating system enhancements, and supporting system upgrades
  • Planning, prioritizing, evaluating, and organizing statewide resource sharing activities will also be a priority.
