Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage, Library Department, seeks a library clerk to support patrons and access to community resources. Work involves information navigation, outreach, and coordinating volunteers, in partnership with community agencies.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or higher, with four years of library clerical/technical experience; or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree with related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and four (4) years of library clerical and/or technical experience.
• Associate’s degree in Library Science or a related discipline and two (2) years of library clerical and/or technical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related discipline and library experience.

Responsibilities

• Support patrons of the Anchorage Public Library to facilitate access to community resources, health care, employment, behavioral health supports and housing; provide information, navigation, outreach, and activities in partnership with community agencies; recruit and coordinate volunteers.Oversee volunteers recruited from restorative justice programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
