Job summary

The Community College of Baltimore County is seeking a Library Technician II, Public Services to support student access to library facilities and resources, maintain materials, and assist in programs and operations. Strong knowledge of library procedures and proficiency with standard office systems are required.

Ideal candidates will have relevant experience or an Associate degrees, plus demonstrated customer service skills and familiarity with library software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED plus 3 years relevant experience, or an Associate degree with 1 year relevant experience.
• Preferred: demonstrated customer service experience and familiarity with library software.
• AssociateInformaton Technology degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and high-quality circulation and access services to students and visitors.
• Assist students with educational platforms including Brightspace, Microsoft Office products, Simon.
• Help library customers with computers, copiers, printers, and other library tech.
• Maintain organized records, document practices, and submit timely reports.
• Keep the library environment clean, functional, and welcoming for study and collaboration.
• Process circulation tasks using library service platform software and perform inventories.
• Shelve, pull, shelf-read, shift collections, and participate in collection projects.
• Collaborate on programming, outreach, and displays to support library use.
