Job summary

The Fremont Public Library District in Mundelein, IL is seeking a Circulation Manager to lead the Circulation Department and ensure exceptional customer service.

The role oversees cards, circulation, ILL, shelving, staff supervision, policy enforcement, and reporting. It is a full-time exempt position, 40 hours weekly, with evening/weekend duties; salary ranges from $62,376 to $77,970 plus benefits, paid time off, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or 5 or more years of customer service experience.
• 3 or more years of supervisory experience is required.
• Be proficient in computer applications and Internet use.
• Experience working at a library’s circulation desk or similar customer service role preferred.
• Display an outgoing, friendly personality and ability to think on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates circulation operations with other library services, working closely with the management and staff of all other library departments.
• Analyzes and enforces Circulation and ILL policies and is proactive about requesting updates to them when department and/or patron needs change.
• Creates monthly statistical reports.
• Works with the IT department on catalog updates and maintenance of computers and other technology equipment used by the department.
• Communicates effectively in person in meetings as well as in writing via email and other channels.
