Responsible for outstanding customer service at the circulation desk. Assist with training and supervising department staff. Assist in the organization, planning, and operations of Circulation Services in support of the library's mission. Provides leadership for staff and volunteers

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting Circulation Manager in overseeing all Circulation activities. Prioritizes and assigns job tasks, and provides training for Circulation Staff; provides library service directly to the public.
Primary Responsibilities
- Works the Circulation Desk providing all basic Circulation Services to the public.
- Supervises the Circulation Staff in collaboration with the Circ. Manager.
- Assist in hiring, training, coaching for improvement, scheduling, and evaluation of Circ. Staff and shelvers
- Assist by leading Staff in developing/implementing Circ. policies, procedures, and processes.
- Manage/support the coordination of Volunteers, Home Delivery (Outreach), Book Club services, and ILL.
- Maintain accuracy of patron records; collect patron statistics and create a monthly/annual report.
- Work with the Manager and Supervisory team to make improvements; provide excellent customer service and help resolve issues for staff and patrons.
- Demonstrates commitment to the library's mission by helping with ongoing projects and other organizational initiatives
- Serves as "Person in Charge" when required
- Maintains current knowledge of library trends and technology
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Two year's previous work experience in a public library circulation department. One year of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in standard computer software programs such as Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Google products, etc. Working knowledge of integrated library systems as well as other library applications related to Circulation including mobile applications.
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings and weekends
Salary Range: $53,524 - $66,905; DOQ. The Library provides an excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision and life insurance, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
The Woodridge Public Library contracts with an outside firm to conduct background checks of all employees to whom a position is offered.
Employment with the Library is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with the following policy.
