Job summary

Harnett County Public Library System is seeking a library technician to support technical services, cataloging materials in the NC Cardinal system, and preparing items for circulation. You will also assist patrons, provide reader’s advisory, and help organize and shelve library materials.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in library science and at least one year of related experience, plus a valid NC driver's license. A rotating Saturday schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in library science or related field.
• 1 year of related library experience preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Catalog materials and assign bibliographic data and call numbers.
• Assess damage and determine repair or withdrawal actions.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Assist patrons and provide reference assistance and reader's advisory.
• Participate in a rotating Saturday schedule due to library hours.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
