Job summary

City of Chandler Sunset Library is seeking a Library Branch Manager to lead daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure exemplary service for library patrons. This 40-hour position includes evenings and weekends on a rotating basis with branch staff.

The ideal candidate will have a MLS degree or library science background, several years of library experience with supervisory responsibilities, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Library Science or related degree.
• 5 years of library experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable.

Job description

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as aLibrary Branch Manager – Sunset Library. The position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends on a rotational basis with branch staff.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are looking for

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to collaboratively engage as a critical member of the library leadership team, supervise and oversee daily library branch operations, coordinate assigned library services and ensure the provision of excellent services to library patrons.

Minimum qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or a related Degree; and
• 5 years of general library experience with 1 year of supervisory experience; and
• A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or a related Degree
• 3 years of department/branch leadership experience in a public library
• Experience in youth, teen, and adult library programming or education

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
