Qualifications

The City of Chandler Municipal Airport is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Airport Maintenance Senior Technician - CDL.

Who we are

Situated on 550 acres, Chandler Municipal Airport (CHD) is owned and operated by the City of Chandler and has been in operation since 1948. Because it is a City-run airport, Chandler Municipal is open for public use 24 hours a day, seven days a week. CHD operates as a general aviation airport, which means it is primarily used for corporate and self-piloted business flights, sport/hobby aviation, flight training, public safety, and medical service flights.

Who we are looking for

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone to perform skilled preventative maintenance and repair of the City’s airport operational areas and equipment.

Minimum qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED; and
• 3 years of experience in grounds and facilities maintenance and operations; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; and
• A Commercial Driver's License Class B with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Maricopa County Dust Control Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Underground Storage Tank Class A, B and C Operator Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• An Office of Pest Management License within 6 months of hire or promotion; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This position is scheduled to work Wednesday through Saturday, from 5:00am to 3:30pm.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
