Halifax County is seeking a library assistant who will provide support to patrons with computers and job applications. In this role, you will assist with checking materials in and out and managing special projects while ensuring excellent customer service. Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably previous public library experience. A valid driver's license is required.

The person in this position assists patrons with computers using various programs including emails, job applications, and MS Office Suite. Responsibilities also include checking materials in and out, shelving, and handling special projects and tasks as assigned. The individual must be able to troubleshoot office machines such as copiers, fax machines, and printers. Travel between library locations (Scotland Neck, Enfield, Halifax, Littleton, and Weldon) is required.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation. Previous public library experience with excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude is preferred. Other requirements include possession of a valid driver’s license in North Carolina.

The salary for this position is $15.00 per hour. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 30 hours per week, with occasional Saturdays.
