Black Caucus of the American Library Association is seeking an Assistant Manager, Kid & Teen Central at the Central Library. This full-time role (40 hours/week) requires a Master's degree and Indiana Librarian Certification 2, with 3–5 years of librarian or management experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required for candidate.
• Indiana Librarian Certification 2 – Branch or Department Head required.
• Three to five years of Librarian or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, trains and evaluates performance for assigned personnel and volunteers.
• Directs staff in creating and implementing Community Action Plans.
• Directs staff in the maintenance of the collection and displays.
• Directs staff in marketing the collection via Bibliocommons.
• Develops partnerships with community groups to promote library use and programs.
• Instructs patrons in using catalogs and online resources.
• Resolves patron complaints and maintains safety in a 6-story building.
