Job summary

Douglas County School District in the United States is seeking a Library Assistant to support the Library Media Center operations. You will help with literacy promotion, supervision, and managing the library collection and equipment.

The role requires training completion for new library staff, the ability to assist users, and collaboration with students and staff to promote reading and learning. 185 work days and full-time hours are typical.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Ability to use Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs.
• Attention to detail and strong customer service.
• Experience with library systems (Destiny) is a plus.
• Ability to read aloud to students and collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Organize and reshelve returned items.
• Manage loans between DCSD school libraries (ILL loans).
• Maintain and repair library materials.
• Manage and catalog materials using Destiny.
• Follow DCSD policies for the library.
• Assist students and staff with print and digital resources.
• Answer phones, keep the library organized, and perform tasks.
• Plan and participate in literacy events district-wide.
