Job summary

Douglas County High School is seeking a Library Assistant to support the Library Media Center. You will assist with circulation, cataloging, and patron help, while upholding district policies and safety standards.

You will participate in planning literacy activities, manage book loans between DCSD libraries, and help maintain a welcoming, well-organized learning space for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office; strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Destiny and the Dewey Decimal System preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Organize and reshelve returned items.
• Manage loans between DCSD school libraries (ILL loans).
• Maintain and repair library materials.
• Manage and catalog materials using Destiny.
• Follow district media policies and board policies.
• Assist students and staff with print and digital resources.
• Answer phone calls, keep library clean and organized.
• Plan and participate in literacy events district-wide and school events.
• Keep full inventory records every two years.
• Train and schedule student aides and community volunteers.
