Job summary

Orange County Library is seeking a Library Assistant II to support circulation, reference services, and library automation requests at the Southern Branch in Carrboro.

The ideal candidate will handle check-in/check-out, assist patrons with basic inquiries, and guide users in locating resources. A valid NC driver’s license is required; a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Possession of a High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• Some experience in a library setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in/out and assist patrons with basic reference inquiries.
• Instruct patrons on the use of library equipment and help locate and use materials and resources.
