Job summary

Nassau County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Library Clerk/Assistant to support public patrons and manage circulation at Nassau County libraries. The role requires reliable customer service, basic library operations, and the ability to work at multiple branches as assigned.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of library, customer service, or office experience; a valid Florida driver’s license is a plus. Evening/weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus 1–2 years general library/customer service/office experience.
• Knowledge of library operations and customer service standards.
• Valid State Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulation duties including check in/out and fines.
• Assist patrons with holds, reserves, and interlibrary loan requests.
• Provide reference assistance and use of library catalogs and databases.
• Organize materials, shelve and process items.
• Prepare and submit required reports; collect library statistics.
• Open/close library and set up meeting rooms.
