Job summary

City of Mission Texas seeks library clerks (FT 40hrs/wk and PT 30hrs/wk) to assist patrons with information and library materials. Duties include shelving, data entry of bibliographic records, and operating library equipment. Background checks and drug screening are required; a valid Texas driver's license is expected.

Bilingual ability is a plus, not required. Applicants should demonstrate strong customer service, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• General knowledge of library procedures.
• Ability to maintain good public relations, safety, courtesy and professionalism.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patrons, supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in accessing information and library materials.
• Input/check/verify bibliographic information and process library materials.
• Shelve items daily and operate library equipment and computers.
• Answer calls and provide reference assistance; support donations processing.
