Job summary

City of Frisco Library is seeking a Library Assistant to support service desk operations, help patrons locate materials, and assist with program activities.

The role involves processing new materials, updating catalogs, and helping maintain the collection. Bachelors degree and library experience preferred; Spanish proficiency a plus. May require occasional evenings or weekends and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and one year library experience or equivalent combination.
• Preference for applicants proficient in written and verbal Spanish.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including drug, background, and MVR checks.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service to patrons and staff.
• Assist customers with finding materials and using library resources.
• Prepare displays and assist with program development.
• Update databases, process new materials, and perform collection maintenance.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers.
• May travel to meetings or trainings; may work extended hours.
