Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Library Architect to own the core programming language ecosystem and shared abstractions powering our backend microservices. You will oversee foundational infrastructure architecture, define Nubank's language landscape, and ensure libraries remain stable, idiomatic, and well-governed across thousands of services.

You will lead cross-language initiatives, drive interoperability, and mentor senior engineers while shaping strategies for AI-enabled development and open-source

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in building high-throughput, fault-tolerant backend ecosystems at scale.
• Experience abstracting complex domain logic and standardizing libraries across large distributed architectures (hundreds to thousands of microservices).
• Strong understanding of polyglot architectures, runtimes, and cross-language abstractions.

Responsibilities

• Define language landscape strategy and 2–3 year technical direction for backend language adoption and core libraries.
• Provide horizontal leadership across engineering teams to ensure interoperable library patterns.
• Govern and own foundational libraries for 4,000+ microservices, preventing breaking changes and ensuring stability across the stack.
• Architect AI-ready developer workflows and foundational libraries for AI-driven development cycles.
• Lead open-source stewardship and mentor senior engineers and directors.
