Job summary

OCLC is seeking a Senior Architect to shape the long-term tech architecture for its Resource Sharing platform. You will partner with engineering, product, and leadership to deliver scalable, secure solutions and modernization initiatives that serve libraries worldwide.

You’ll mentor engineers, drive architectural governance, and explore AI-enabled practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining reliability and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 8–10 years of experience.
• Experience designing large-scale, distributed cloud software.
• Ability to translate business strategy into technical architecture.
• Influence direction across teams without direct authority.
• Mentor engineers and leaders; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve a multi-year architectural roadmap.
• Lead modernization of cloud-native architectures and APIs.
• Evaluate emerging tech including AI-assisted development.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve productivity and governance.
• Mentor teams and participate in reviews and strategic initiatives.
