Job summary

Pittsburg State University Library Services is seeking an Evening and Weekend Library Aide. This part-time position will primarily work evening shifts during the week and provide weekend coverage during library business hours. Two positions are available at 19 hours per week.

Required: High school diploma and at least 1 year of office experience; familiarity with Microsoft Office is expected. Preference for an Associate degree is noted.

• One year of work experience in an education environment.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee library physical space, processes, and services during weekend and evening hours.
• Collaborate with day shift public services faculty and staff to align evening activity with daytime activities.
• Provide reference and customer service duties in support of student success and faculty scholarly work.
• Conduct other materials, collection, or e-resource projects as assigned by the Public Services Librarian or the Dean of Library Services.
• Collaborate with colleagues and customers in an effective and respectful manner while meeting project goals and providing services.

Education and Experience

• Required Education and Experience – Time of Hire
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year’s experience with Microsoft Office or similar in an office setting.
• One year of work experience in an education environment.
