Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking an Entrance/Exit Control Attendant for the Regenstein Library in Chicago, IL. You will welcome patrons, verify access, and help direct visitors while upholding library policies and safeguarding private data.

Responsibilities include monitoring entry systems, assisting with visitor registration, and coordinating with staff to ensure smooth operations during early morning shifts. This is an hourly, full-time on-site role with 40 hours/week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Ability to navigate computer systems and web-based applications.
• Experience in a college or university setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and apply library policies to ensure friendly service.
• Monitor entry systems and verify IDs to grant or restrict access.
• Direct visitors to appropriate staff and departments.
• Escalate access issues to supervisor and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain security by monitoring cameras and reporting issues.
