Job summary

University of Chicago Library is seeking a Library Access Services Assistant to process course reserves, open the circulation desk, and support reserves and exams materials.

The role requires strong customer service, organization, and ability to work with library systems and faculty communications. Hours include Tuesday-Saturday shifts with potential Monday-Friday changes in summer quarters.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Related library experience or equivalent combination required.
• Significant customer service experience in library, retail, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Process requests for course reserves and electronic materials.
• Correspond with faculty to maintain reserve lists.
• Retrieve and prepare materials for reserves; coordinate with acquisitions.
• Maintain online reserve materials and physical binder or iPad at desk.
• Provide exceptional customer service at circulation desk and during shifts.
