Qualifications

  • Requires a Master’s of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited school and one year of library experience.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 18 hours toward an MLS from an ALA-accredited school and two years of library experience.
  • *** A Master’s of Library Science degree must be completed within two years from being hired into this classification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise assigned staff with timely feedback and staff development.
  • Provide exceptional public service and maintain a welcoming library space for all.
  • Oversee programs and library services for all ages.
  • Interact with customers at the service desk to locate information and materials.
  • Liaise with the community through outreach and partnerships with local organizations.
  • Perform collection development and maintenance.
  • Serve as Assistant Manager and act as location lead in the manager’s absence.
