Job summary

CAE USA Inc. in the United States is seeking a Librarian to support configuration and data management for C17 Training Systems.

You will ensure accuracy, integrity, and organization of the complete technical data package, including CAE generated documentation, databases, vendor manuals, Air Force publications, and Air Force procedural documentation. The role also supports secure cloud environments and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS/CS/IT or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or configuration/data management environments.
  • Ability to obtain IAT Level III certification within six months of probation.
  • U.S. citizen required due to government contract.

Responsibilities

  • Manage configuration and data management processes for official documentation.
  • Maintain integrity of released program documentation and associated records.
  • Oversee compilation and delivery of C-17 TS CDRLs and contractor records.
  • Maintain baselines for courseware, hardware, software, and visual data.
  • Design, deploy and manage secure cloud environments in line with NIST, ISO 27001, FedRAMP.

Position Summary

The Librarian supports all configuration and data management activities for C17 Training Systems (TS). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and organization of the complete technical data package, including CAE generated documentation, databases, vendor software and hardware documentation, Air Force aircraft technical publications, and Air Force procedural documentation. The Librarian manages the team responsible for compiling, delivering, and maintaining all C17 TS Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs), contractor records, courseware baselines, hardware and software baselines, and visual database documentation. The role also supports secure cloud environments, cybersecurity compliance, documentation control processes, and configuration management best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the configuration and data management processes ensuring all technical documentation is accurate, current, and properly maintained.
  • Maintain the integrity of released program documentation including internal documents, databases, vendor manuals, and Air Force publications.
  • Oversee the compilation, delivery, storage, and upkeep of all C-17 TS CDRLs and contractor-related records.
  • Maintain courseware, hardware, software, and visual database baselines in accordance with established configuration management practices.
  • Design, deploy, and manage secure cloud environments (Air Force SharePoint, CloudOne, AWS) in compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and related standards.
  • Administer systems connected to secure government networks and enforce cybersecurity requirements.
  • Configure and maintain IAM, MFA, and RBAC policies for cloud and on-premises documentation systems.
  • Implement and monitor security controls including IDS/IPS, SIEM monitoring, and endpoint protection.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks affecting documentation repositories and configuration management systems.
  • Manage networking infrastructure supporting documentation access, including firewalls, VPNs, and connectivity between cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Conduct scheduled audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning related to documentation storage and retrieval systems.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans to support rapid investigation and mitigation of cyber threats.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging cloud security trends and best practices.
  • Provide internal teams with technical guidance related to secure documentation management and cloud security.
  • Monitor documentation system usage and address performance or accessibility issues.
  • Ensure backup procedures—scheduled, unscheduled, and media handling—are documented, tested, and functional.
  • Conduct information security vulnerability scanning using ACAS tools and develop POA&Ms for identified issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, hardware, and network components supporting configuration and data management systems.
  • Implement and monitor technical security controls using STIGs, SRGs, and NIST best practices.
  • Develop compensating controls for deficiencies within documentation systems.
  • Assist in developing or updating documentation security plans, procedures, work methods, network topology references, and system inventories.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for configuration management processes.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Information Technology or configuration/data management environments.
  • Ability to obtain Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III certification within six months of the probationary period.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, and endpoint security.
  • Understanding of NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP security frameworks.
  • Experience with incident response tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, or CrowdStrike.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows server environments.
  • Strong analytical skills for risk assessment, problem-solving, and secure data management.
  • Experience with host and client/server architectures, telecommunications, network migration, and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of network design, tuning, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of enterprise storage technologies including SAN, NAS, fiber channel, zoning, and backup systems.
  • Proficiency in Ethernet networking protocols and analysis techniques.
Security Responsibilities
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment with use of standard computers, communications equipment, and documentation systems.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Occasional work in simulator environments may involve exposure to electrical systems, mechanical equipment, elevated temperatures, airborne particles, and loud noise.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk or climb stairs and access simulator or cockpit environments.
  • Ability to detect noises, odors, or other indicators related to documentation systems or training device environments.
  • Ability to perform routine office tasks including prolonged computer use.
