Job summary

CAE USA Inc. is seeking a C17 Training System data and configuration management professional for oversight of the total data package, documentation integrity, and baseline configurations.

You will interface with engineering, courseware, logistics, IT, and Air Force stakeholders to ensure timely data delivery and compliance. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information management, engineering, CS or related field.
  • 2–4 years in configuration management, data management, or technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of configuration control processes and document revision practices.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, software/hardware records or similar data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor large document volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for C17 TS configuration and data management activities across the program.
  • Develop, maintain, and control the total program data package for the C17 TS.
  • Ensure integrity and compliance of released documentation (CA E generated materials, databases, vendor docs, AF publications).
  • Oversee compilation, delivery, and archiving of all C17 TS CDRLs per contract and schedules.
  • Maintain contractor records and baseline documentation for courseware, hardware, software, and visual databases.
  • Implement configuration management policies, procedures, and change control processes.
  • Coordinate configuration audits and assist with evaluations to verify baseline accuracy and compliance.
  • Support engineering, courseware, logistics, and IT teams with up-to-date documentation and configuration information.
  • Identify discrepancies or gaps and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation products meet established formats and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and Air Force stakeholders on schedules, updates, and reviews.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to configuration management and data control.

Summary

This position serves as the focal point for all C17 Training System (TS) configuration and data management activities. The role leads the management of the total data package for the C17 TS and is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all released program documentation. This includes CAE generated documents, database information, vendor software and hardware documentation, Air Force aircraft technical publications, and procedural documentation. The position oversees all activities related to compiling, delivering, and maintaining C17 TS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), contractor records, and baseline documentation for courseware, hardware, software, and visual databases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for all C17 TS configuration and data management activities across the program.
  • Leads the development, maintenance, and control of the total program data package, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with contractual and organizational standards.
  • Maintains the integrity of all released documentation, including CAE generated materials, databases, vendor documentation, Air Force technical publications, and Air Force procedural guidance.
  • Oversees the compilation, delivery, and archiving of all C17 TS CDRLs in accordance with contract requirements and established schedules.
  • Manages and maintains all contractor related records associated with the C17 TS, ensuring proper documentation control and long-term record retention.
  • Controls and maintains baseline documentation for courseware, hardware, software, and visual database components of the C17 TS.
  • Implements and enforces configuration management policies, procedures, and change control processes across all program documentation.
  • Coordinates configuration audits and assists with evaluations to verify baseline accuracy and compliance.
  • Supports engineering, courseware, logistics, and IT teams by providing controlled and up to date documentation and configuration information.
  • Identifies discrepancies, gaps, or issues within data packages or baseline configurations and coordinates corrective actions.
  • Ensures documentation products are prepared according to established formats and quality requirements prior to release.
  • Collaborates with internal teams and Air Force stakeholders to support data delivery schedules, technical updates, and program reviews.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to configuration management and data control processes.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information management, engineering, computer science, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2-4 years of experience in configuration management, data management, or technical documentation roles.
  • Working knowledge of configuration control processes, document revision practices, and structured data management.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, technical publications, software/hardware records, or similar technical data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor accuracy and consistency across large volumes of documents.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaboration with engineering teams and program stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and document management tools.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting DoD, Air Force, or government contracted training system programs.
  • Knowledge of CDRLs, configuration management software, and military technical publication formats.
  • Experience maintaining hardware, software, and courseware baselines on complex simulation or training systems.
  • Understanding of visual database documentation or synthetic environment data structures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, or system specifications.
  • Experience conducting configuration audits or supporting change control boards.
Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an office or engineering support environment within a training systems facility.
  • Frequent coordination with engineering, courseware, logistics, IT, and project management personnel.
  • Structured environment requiring precise documentation handling and adherence to deadlines.
  • Occasional interaction with Air Force customers or external vendors.
  • May require occasional travel for meetings, audits, or data delivery support.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while reviewing documents, databases, or computer displays.
  • Ability to walk through simulator areas, technical workspaces, or storage rooms as needed.
  • May occasionally require lifting or moving small technical binders, files, or material boxes (typically up to 25 lbs).
