Job summary

CAE USA Inc. is seeking a Configuration/Data Management support specialist for the C17 Training System program in the U.S.

This role manages the complete program data package, including CAE-generated materials, Air Force publications, and vendor documents, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance. You will collaborate with engineering, courseware, IT, logistics, and management to maintain current configurations and prepare for audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in configuration management, data management, document control, or related technical support disciplines.
  • Basic understanding of configuration management principles, documentation standards, and version control practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for working with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and document management applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supports daily configuration management and data management activities for the C17 TS program.
  • Assists in managing the total program data package, ensuring documentation accuracy and proper organization.
  • Maintains the integrity of all released C17 TS documentation and related materials.
  • Supports compiling, delivering, and maintaining C17 TS CDRLs and contractor records.
  • Helps organize and maintain contractor records for the C17 TS program.
  • Assists in baseline management for C17 TS courseware, hardware, software, and visual database products.
  • Follows configuration management procedures, version control, and documentation standards.
  • Tracks modifications and changes to program documentation and configuration items.
  • Coordinates with engineering, courseware, IT, logistics, and other teams to reflect current configurations.
  • Prepares for audits, reviews, and inspections related to configuration and data management.
  • Identifies discrepancies and assists with corrective actions.

Summary This position supports all C17 Training System (TS) configuration and data management activities and executes the management of the complete program data package. The role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all released program documentation, including CAE generated materials, database information, vendor software and hardware documentation, Air Force aircraft technical publications, and Air Force procedural documents. The position also supports the team responsible for compiling, delivering, and maintaining all C17 TS Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), contractor records, and baseline documentation for courseware, hardware, software, and visual databases.

  • Supports daily configuration management and data management activities for the C17 TS program.
  • Assists in managing the total program data package, ensuring documentation accuracy, proper organization, and compliance with contract requirements and internal standards.
  • Maintains the integrity of all released C17 TS documentation, including CAE generated documents, databases, vendor documentation, and Air Force technical publications.
  • Supports the team that compiles, delivers, and maintains all C17 TS CDRLs, ensuring timely submission and proper documentation control.
  • Helps organize and maintain all contractor related records associated with the C17 TS program.
  • Assists in baseline management for C17 TS courseware, hardware, software, and visual database products to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Follows established configuration management procedures, version control processes, and documentation standards.
  • Tracks modifications, updates, and changes to program documentation and configuration items.
  • Coordinates with engineering, courseware, IT, logistics, and other teams to ensure documentation reflects current system configurations.
  • Supports preparation for audits, reviews, and inspections related to configuration and data management.
  • Identifies discrepancies or gaps in documentation and assists with corrective actions.
  • Ensures all documentation is properly formatted, organized, and stored for easy retrieval and long-term usability.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of configuration and data management processes and tools.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in configuration management, data management, document control, or related technical support disciplines.
  • Basic understanding of configuration management principles, documentation standards, and version control practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for working with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, structured environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and document management applications.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with military training systems, defense programs, or government contracted environments.
  • Familiarity with Air Force technical publications, formats, or procedural documents.
  • Knowledge of CDRLs and configuration management tools or databases.
  • Experience supporting baseline management for hardware, software, courseware, or visual database products.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering documents, or system specifications.
  • Experience contributing to configuration audits or change control board activities.
Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment
  • Work is performed primarily in an office or engineering support environment within a training systems facility.
  • Regular communication with engineering, courseware, IT, logistics, and program management teams.
  • Structured workflow requiring precision, organization, and adherence to documentation standards.
  • Occasional interaction with Air Force representatives or external vendors.
  • Limited travel may be required for meetings, deliveries, or documentation related support.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while reviewing documents or working at a computer.
  • Ability to walk through simulator areas, technical spaces, or storage rooms as needed.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or move small boxes, binders, or technical files (typically up to 25 lbs).
