Overview

LIBI COORDINATOR A role at Inside Higher Ed

Responsibilities and qualifications for this Clinical Research Coordinator A position involve supporting behavioral and functional neuroimaging research in collaboration with the Brain Behavior Laboratory and the PennCHOP Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI). The role includes assisting with participant recruitment, scheduling, assessments, data collection for behavioral and fMRI experiments, neuroimaging data management and cleaning, database querying to create reports and ensure data accuracy, exporting/importing data between sources, editing SAS and R code for data organization, conducting basic statistical analyses using SAS and R, and assisting with grant and manuscript preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, schedule, and assess subjects for behavioral and functional MRI studies.
  • Acquire data for behavioral and fMRI experiments; manage and clean neuroimaging data.
  • Query databases to create reports and verify data accuracy; export/import data between sources.
  • Edit SAS and R code to organize data for analyses.
  • Assist with basic statistical analyses using SAS, R, and other tools.
  • Assist with grant and manuscript preparation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in biomedical or psychological research or data management is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience designing and querying relational databases using SQL is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of data manipulation and conversion tools; meticulous attention to detail; comfort with numbers.
  • Experience with statistics and statistical programming (SAS or R); programming experience in one or more general-purpose languages is preferred.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills independently; UNIX or Mac OSX experience preferred.
  • Strong motivation and excellent organizational skills.
