Clinical Research Assistant A
Job Description Summary
Responsible to assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within a specific division. Works directly with study physicians, research coordinators, project managers, and other research staff. Performs screening visits, consenting of participants, processing and shipping of labs, entering data into databases, and escorting participants to other testing/procedure areas. The position has two functions: (1) To implement patient recruitment, screening and primary data collection within specified projects at the Center for Studies on Addiction within the Department of Psychiatry at the Penn Perelman School of Medicine, including comfort with computer/technical demands and strong interpersonal skills; (2) To assist in fNIRS, MRI, and neurocognitive data collection and upload, and preliminary imaging analyses. This role may require interaction with study engineers, participants, and investigators, and entails upload and management of non-imaging data for integration with imaging analysis.
