Job summary

The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) is a Harlem-based organization that supports Black and Latinx youth through arts, organizing, and education. The LP Coordinator & Lead Organizer role leads the Liberation Program, mentors staff, and builds coalitions to advance social justice campaigns.

The position emphasizes youth leadership development, staff coaching, and strategic partnership work. Reporting to the Director of Arts & Organizing, you will guide programmatic planning, curriculum

Qualifications

  • 4-year commitment to BroSis is expected.
  • 10+ years of youth development and organizing experience with 4+ years of people management.
  • Strong focus on youth engagement in social justice education and organizing.
  • Understanding of local/national issues in education justice and related reforms.
  • Deep knowledge of gender, sexuality, class, and ethno-racial identities in social justice contexts.
  • Experience in social work and counseling practices within education settings.
  • Knowledge of African Diasporic and Latinx histories and movements.
  • Proven leadership in fast-paced team environments.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Track record of launching and sustaining innovative programs.
  • Experience working with high-performing, collaborative peers.
  • Solutions-oriented and intersectional approach.
  • Availability for weekends retreats and college trips.
  • Bilingual/multilingual is a plus.
  • College degree in related areas is a plus.
  • Licensed driver is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program plans, budgets, and objectives with the Director.
  • Lead staff to fulfill program objectives and ensure success.
  • Identify challenges and facilitate resolutions.
  • Provide coaching and daily programmatic support to staff.
  • Plan programs from recruitment to events, retreats, and trips.
  • Develop and expand programming curriculum and mentor teams.
  • Monitor staff performance and implement development plans.
  • Ensure policies and protocols are followed organization-wide.
  • Coordinate annual program calendar and policies with Directors.
  • Review evaluations and reports to shape future plans.
  • Ensure timely delivery of program data and reports.
  • Co-facilitate youth sessions and staff meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and coalitions.
  • Guide campaigns and coordinate organizing strategies with staff.
