Job summary

Holmes Murphy's Creative Risk Solutions team seeks a Liability Claims Specialist to support commercial auto and CGL claims, with an emphasis on coverage determination and claim adjudication. You will investigate bodily injury and liability claims, negotiate settlements, and maintain loss data with precision in our claims system.

You will help manage reserves within authority, pursue subrogation when appropriate, and assist training others while participating in risk-control initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; college degree preferred; AIC and CPCU encouraged.
• Active state Life & Health/Property Casualty license required or the ability to acquire within three months.
• 3–5 years of adjusting property and casualty claims; prior agency involvement preferred.
• Understanding of claims principles, coverage interpretation, and compliant resolution.
• Ability to follow defined workflows and deliver world-class client service.

Responsibilities

• Consult on and confirm coverage for commercial auto and CGL claims.
• Adjudicate claims, investigate bodily injury/liability, and negotiate settlements.
• Maintain accurate loss information in our systems during the claim process.
• Maintain reserves within authority; negotiate interim and final settlements.
• Research responses to questions from insureds, claimants, and partners.
• Monitor litigation and ensure timely responses by counsel.
• Participate in claim reviews and risk-control workshops as requested.
• Communicate with customers as per CRS guidelines.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and report fraud when applicable.
• Assist in training Claims Specialist I and contribute to new standards.
• Perform special projects as requested.
