Job summary

Coverys, Inc. is seeking a claims professional to interview insureds, claimants, witnesses and other parties to assess liability exposure. You will secure records, evaluate cases, and document investigations and negotiations to support timely resolutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, potential RN or JD with 3–5 years in nursing or claims, and strong communication. Travel 25–30% is expected; license to drive is required and knowledge of medical/legal terminology is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• RN or JD preferred with 3-5 years' experience in clinical nursing and/or 3-5 years claims experience dealing with serious bodily injury.
• Knowledge of medical, legal and insurance terminology is required.
• Must hold a current driver's license.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must have training in contract/policy review and application.
• Must be comfortable making oral presentations to staff and insureds.
• Must be able to synthesize complex or diverse information; Collect and research data; use intuition and experience to complement data; design workflows and procedures.
• Insurance adjuster's license may be required for specific states.
• Ability to travel 25-30% required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews insureds, claimants, witnesses to assess liability exposure.
• Documents related files regarding investigation results and negotiations.
• Prepares reports to file on diary dates and other reports for timely documentation.
• Secures records for investigation and evaluation of cases.
• Determines and implements negotiation strategy and negotiates settlements within authority.
