Job summary

Greater New York Insurance Companies is seeking a claims professional to examine, adjust, defend, and settle premises liability claims for our insureds. You will review coverage, conduct investigations, and determine liability while evaluating damages from property to medical records.

The role includes reserving, negotiating settlements, and coordinating with defense counsel as needed. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and 2+ years in premises liability claims; CPCU/AIC/SCLA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Professional designations CPCU/AIC/SCLA preferred.
• 2+ years of premises liability claims experience required.
• Familiarity with ImageRight and Guidewire a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify coverage for each claim, including policy review and comparison to allegations.
• Conduct factual investigations directly or with investigators.
• Review documents such as contracts, leases, and medical records.
• Set reserves timely and determine fair settlements.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Direct defense counsel and monitor discovery.
• Maintain complete file notes and diary system.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as required.
