Overview

We are looking for a candidate who can thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment. The Certified Technician is responsible for diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned, in accordance with factory and dealership standards.

This is a full-time position with a competitive pay plan (Flagging start rate* based on experience and Technician level) of $37.40 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
• Complete various vehicle repairs, from oil changes to engine rebuilds.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Repair vehicles according to estimates and manufacturer standards.
• Road test vehicles to ensure quality of work.
• Inspect vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
• Communicate with Service Advisors about additional work or delays.
• Follow safety requirements and procedures.
• Document all work and findings accurately.
• Meet production objectives set by management.
• Assist with warranty repair orders and other tasks.
• Coordinate with Parts Department on parts status.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in good condition.
• Maintain high grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
• Perform administrative functions as directed.
• Uphold high ethical standards.
• Report to work on time to provide excellent service.

Qualifications

• Prior Toyota or Lexus experience preferred.
• Associate degree in mechanical technology or graduation from automotive vocational school.
• Minimum of two ASE Certificates.
• At least four years of line technician experience.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, and maintenance.
• Understanding of regulations on hazardous waste disposal.
• Proficiency in mathematical principles.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and diagnose issues.
• Strong coordination skills.
• Attention to detail and good comprehension skills in English.
• Valid California driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include frequent bending, stretching, reaching, working outdoors in various weather conditions, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces, standing or sitting for long periods, operating vehicles and heavy equipment, and climbing ladders or stairs.
