Job summary

Estes Express Lines is hiring a maintenance technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers in our Omaha facility. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment, interpret work orders, and ensure compliance with FMCSA and safety standards.

This role requires physical stamina and ability to work nights or weekends as needed. We value candidates with a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of maintenance experience or trade school, and the ability to use hand tools and test

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Minimum 1 year experience and/or trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria.
• Ability to adapt to evolving technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability and interest in electronics and precision equipment.
• Must be able to lift ~70 lbs and work in awkward positions.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving on public roads.
• FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse if CDL holder.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Self-starting and organized.
• Willingness to work any shift, including nights/weekends.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance of trailers.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare required FMCSA safety documents.
• Interpret work orders and manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment to meet specs and regulations.
• Regular attendance required.
