Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority seeks a Engineer - B to perform a variety of assignments in design and construction document review for capital improvement projects. The role involves coordinating among engineering disciplines, addressing RFIs, site visits, and supervising staff on complex CIP projects.

The position requires a NYS Professional Engineer license, a bachelor’s degree, and several years of post-licensure experience with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time, paid post-licensure experience as a Professional Engineer, two years of which must have been as a project engineer, project, team, or squad leader.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• A valid New York State Professional Engineer License.

Responsibilities

• Design and review construction documents for Capital Improvement Projects.
• Coordinate among the engineering disciplines and between drawings and specifications to ensure code compliance and SCA standards.
• Address RFIs, perform site visits, and review shop drawings to ensure conformance with design.
• May lead internal staff and external consultants on multiple CIP projects and supervise submittals.
