Job summary

Advent seeks Level 3 and Level 4 Respite Care Providers to support individuals with complex needs across CONUS, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. Work sites include family residences, government facilities, or approved locations, with care delivered in local time zones.

Direct services run 0600–2400, seven days a week, not exceeding 40 hours weekly; duties vary by level from daily living support to complex medical tasks under RN/LPN supervision.

Qualifications

• Three qualification pathways for Level III/IV: degree, LPN license, or direct experience with special needs.
• Level III: degree or LPN with 3+ years of related work.
• Level IV: RN license or LPN with 5+ years or RN degree with 3+ years complex-care experience.

Responsibilities

• Level III: assist with daily living activities (meal prep, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, dressing) and safety.
• Level IV: perform Level III duties and address more complex conditions (seizure activity, tube feedings, tracheotomy suctioning, monitor home medical equipment).

Position: Level 3 & Level 4 Respite Care Provider

Location: TBD – Dependent on Respite Care Case Location

The work to be performed under this contract will be performed throughout the continental United States (CONUS), Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii. Specifically, services will be delivered at the family’s residence, a government-operated Child and Youth Services (CYS) facility, or another location approved by the Contract Office Representative.

Schedule: Respite Care direct services will be provided in the local time zone of the installation between the hours of 0600 -2400, 7 days per week, excluding federal holidays. Each HCW shall not be on duty for more than 40 hours per week, including periods of approved leave and holidays.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualification pathways for the applicable provider level:

Level III Provider

• Path 1 – Degree: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as child development or special education.
• Path 2 – LPN Certification: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with at least three years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
• Path 3 – Experience: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or related degree with at least four years of direct, documented experience working with individuals with special needs.

Level IV Provider

• Path 1 – RN License: Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Path 2 – LPN License and Experience: Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with at least five years of experience working with individuals with special needs.
• Path 3 – Degree and Complex-Care Experience: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with at least three years of complex-care experience working with individuals with special needs.

Scope of Work:

• Level III Providers: Shall assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning, dressing, and ensuring the safety of the individual.
• Level IV Providers: Shall perform all Level III duties and deliver care for more complex conditions, including seizure activity, tube feedings, tracheotomy suctioning, and monitoring of home medical equipment.
